Our Story

An inspiring origin

Casa Iskali traces its roots to a rich history of faith, service, and hospitality in Chicagoland. Originally established in the 1950s as the Cabrini Retreat Center by the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the property served thousands of guests over the decades and became a beloved space for spiritual renewal and community life.

Casa Iskali Story and Legacy: Cabrini Retreat Center by the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

A new beginning

In 2021, the center entered a new chapter when Iskali — a Catholic nonprofit dedicated to empowering Hispanic Catholic communities — took stewardship of the property and re-opened it as Casa Iskali. This transition continues the original mission of welcoming all who seek prayer, formation, and community, now with a special focus on serving faith-based organizations and groups from across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Rome.

A home for growth

Today, Casa Iskali stands as a space of hospitality and encounter, inviting guests to rest, reflect, and grow together in faith. Its proximity to Chicago’s O’Hare Airport and expansive grounds make it an ideal setting for retreats, conferences, and gatherings that strengthen bonds and renew the spirit.
